SAUCE presentation at EUCU.NET conference in Bratislava on December 7, 2009.
This second conference of the European Children’s Universities Network (EUCU.NET), held from 6 -9 Dec in Bratislava and Vienna, is addressed to universities throughout Europe which have made children’s university programmes a steady feature of their lecture programmes – and to those which are interested in doing so.
The presentation of SAUCE will be part of the session Science communication for kindergarteners and teenagers (15:30-16:30 at the Arena Theatre, Bratislava). All participants are invited to discuss with the SAUCE partners from Vienna University of Technology, Raphael Bointner and Manfred Duchkowitsch, about their experience with the programme. Representatives from European universities are invited to ask for further contacts in their home countries and for advice, how to establish a similar programme at their own universities.
EUCU.NET – the European Children’s Universities Network – is funded by the European Commission and supports universities throughout Europe in their effort to organise and improve education programmes for children. The project’s aim is to contribute to a substantial increase in scientific awareness among children and young people and thereby change the perceptions young people have about scientific careers.
